Gerry Marsden passed away in January 2021, however the legacy of Gerry & The Pacemakers continues as GERRY’S PACEMAKERS.

John Summerton
Lead Guitar/Vocals
John’s musical path started with Dagenham band The Young Revival, at age 11 and appeared on Blue Peter, later progressed into Flintlock (1975-1980) releasing 4 albums and 10 singles, with “Dawn” making the top 30 in 1976. Flintlock also were featured on TV shows like “You must be Joking and “Pauline’s Quirks” . After 2 tours in Japan and the changing music scene
Flintlock finished in 1979 and John has focused on his family and business ventures since, whilst still writing and performing and producing bands locally.
John is an accomplished guitarist and a great singer, who has shared the stage with Gary Brooker (Procol Harum) and John Illsley (Dire Straits) a highlight was when he was ask to sing and play “Reeling in the Years “ at the Giants or Rock with Steely Dan’s Elliott Randall!
The Rubettes with Bill Hurd came next where John took lead vocals for for a few tours in Europe and the Uk .
Outside of the band, he runs a successful Music Academy and recording studio in Essex.

Rob Linacre
Vocals
Rob is one of the finest vocal talents on the circuit, captivating audiences of all ages with his excellent vocal range and on-stage charisma.
Rob first performed at age 10 in the family show “The Linacres”. He turned professional with the band in 1984 until 1999 performing all over the UK.
Left ‘The Linacres’ in 2000 to create the male show-band ‘LIFE’, fronting the 4 piece vocal group. Performed at various celebrity events, performing at the ’Kirsty Appeal’ charity events ran by David and Victoria Beckham and Mohammed Al Fayed, 2002.
From 2010-2014, Rob worked as a voice coach at his recording studio at home in the UK to children aged 10-16 years.
In 2017 Rob toured the USA and has starred on many of the world’s leading cruise lines.
Rob joined Gerry’s Pacemakers as lead singer, taking over from Gerry in 2021, bringing a new life and vitality to the band, recreating all the wonderful hits recorded and written by Gerry himself.

Tony Young
Keyboards/Vocals
In the 80’s and 90’s Tony became a backing musician for such celebrated artistes such as Billy. J. Kramer, Brian Poole and PJ Proby and many more. For over 20 years Tony was the band leader and keyboard player for Gerry and the Pacemakers until Gerry’s retirement in 2018.
Enjoying many tours overseas including the States, Canada, Hong Kong and Australia,Tony in between touring, has done a number of BBC sessions for hit duo “Alicia’s Attic” and the odd jingle with Gerry.
In 2018 Tony was enlisted on to the panel to be a music examiner for Trinty College London.

Darren Tingey
Bass/Vocals
Born & raised in London Darren’s musical influences were those of Motown, the Everly Bro’s Early Cliff & the Shadows and The Beatles.
Darren has also had the pleasure of working as a bassist & Backing vocalist for artists such as –

Roger Hodgson (Supertramp)
The Drifters
Members of The Blues brothers.
The Atlantic Soul Machine, Luddy Samms, along with many Rock, pop, & Dance sessions.

Rick Medlock
Drums
Rick started his musical career in the 1970s in local bands in Coventry and Warwickshire before turning professional and working in the UK and Europe backing US soul artists including Ben E King, Percy Sledge, Ann Peebles and the Marvelettes. He also did substantial session work for prolific songwriter and producer Kenny Young (Yellow Dog/Noosha Fox) and for legendary 2-Tone producer Roger Lomas (Lee Perry/Selecter). Later on, he worked in theatre and in 1981 was an integral part of the original production of Blood Brothers with Barbara Dixon.
After taking time out to pursue careers in sports massage therapy and photography, Rick returned to music in 2011, since when he has worked with, among others, Champion Doug Veitch, Horace Panter (the Specials), Peter Noone, Eddie Mooney and the Grave the Fortunes and Vanity Fare.
